Ghanaian Actress Beverly Afaglo Passes Away Days Before Her Birthday

Renowned Ghanaian actress and television personality Beverly Afaglo Baah has passed away, throwing Ghana’s entertainment industry into a state of grief and mourning.

News of her death was confirmed by her husband, Eugene Kwadwo Boadu Baah, popularly known as Choirmaster of the defunct hiplife group Praye, in an emotional Instagram post shared on Sunday, May 24, 2026.

Choirmaster expressed deep grief over the passing of his wife, describing her as the source of his happiness and strength. “My heart is shattered beyond words over the death of my beloved wife, Beverly Afaglo,” he wrote.

He further wrote, “It would have been just like four more days to your birthday but I guess the Lord wanted to celebrate with you so He called you,” adding, “I promise to take care and continue everything we planned and started.”

In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Praye Tietia, a member of the Praye music group, confirmed that the actress had been unwell for several weeks, with hopes that she would recover. He added that the family of the late actress would issue an official statement on her passing.

The circumstances surrounding her death were not immediately disclosed, and no official statement had been issued by the time of publication.

Beverly Afaglo, born May 28, 1983, was widely known for her roles in several Ghanaian films and television productions, including Return of Beyonce (2006), Crime to Christ (2007), and Girls Connection (2008).

She won the Best Actress in Comedy award at a Ghana movie industry event in 2010 and trained at the Ghana Institute of Journalism. She and Choirmaster had two daughters together.

The announcement triggered widespread condolences from fans, colleagues, and members of Ghana’s entertainment industry, with tributes reflecting both her professional contributions and the warmth she brought to those around her.
